Responsibilities

Partner with Product and D&A leadership to ensure we understand and document telematics needs

Develop the technical strategy for acquiring and leveraging telematics data across GMIC use cases

Lead technical efforts and make deep technical contributions to our ability to acquire and process telematics data

Create first-class documentation of telematics processes that create transparency across GMIC

Manage external research partnerships on telematics to accelerate R&D

Influence the data model and data architecture for the telematics domain

Partner with Data Governance to ensure telematics data is properly cataloged and managed

Influence vehicle data collection from GM vehicles and how it shares the data and processes insights

Required

Expert knowledge of data storage, data science, machine learning, and related disciplines

Expert knowledge of telematics, sensor collection, sensor fusion, signal processing

Ability to elicit requirements from stakeholders, design high-level solutions to address business or technical issues, and guide implementation to completion

Exposure to cloud data platforms such as Azure or AWS

Master’s Degree in relevant field of study required

12+ years in data science related function(s) required

5-7 years leading through mentorship in related field, driving thought leadership and innovation required

Related certifications and/or licenses required
