Responsibilities

Serves as the Platform Technical Lead for one or more platforms of Ophthalmic Surgical Lasers and/or associated Diagnostics and/or associated Accessories

Manages Innovation Roadmap, New Product Introduction, Research Roadmap, Intellectual Property, Competitive Understanding, Customer & Application Expertise, and Product Expertise

Collaborates with cross-functional partners, business partners, external partners, surgeon advisory boards, strategic customers, and patients

Partners with R&D functional leads to advance the platform and deliver NPI

Defines project constraints, ensures design control procedures compliance, and resolves roadblock issues

Maintains professionalism, ethics, and compliance with laws and policies

Ensures personal and Company compliance with all regulations, policies, and procedures

Performs other duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Sciences, or related technical field

7-10+ years of experience in medical devices or other regulated or technical field

Ideally 5+ years of experience in designing complex photonic equipment

Proven track record of product innovation

Experience leading cross-functional teams, both local and geographically dispersed

Developed leadership capabilities and negotiation skills, as well as an attention to detail and the ability to effectively assimilate and communicate complex information from multiple sources

Ability to recognize and facilitate the resolution of project issues and roadblocks

Must possess strong leadership, management, and teamwork qualities

Ability to interface with stakeholders at all levels within the company and with external customers and vendors

Recognized as experienced and professional project manager by peers

Must be able to work independently, provide multiple solutions to problems and make systems work together

Preferred

Master’s degree or PhD degree preferred

Strong product design and/or product platform management experience preferred

Authorship of scientific publications and patents preferred
