Responsibilities
Interact with chemists to guide the development of new chemical processes and translate them into executable instructions.
Provide guidance in scaling up production processes from the lab to the pilot plant.
Assist other engineers with difficult scale-up situations and provide flexible solutions.
Provide necessary supporting documentations for processing in the plant.
Conduct safety meetings, oversee processing execution, and review batch records.
Interact closely with chemistry and quality departments throughout the production process.
Support pilot plant infrastructure and establish priorities with supervisor.

Required
B.S. or M.S. in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry with 10 or more years of experience in scale-up/preparation of pharmaceutical and specialty chemicals
Works effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment
Strong problem-solving capabilities
Experience in first time scale-up and preparation
Demonstrated success in prior positions
Experience with pilot plant and kilo scale process equipment
Knowledgeable in process/cleaning validation and equipment commissioning/qualification
Good trouble shooting and problem-solving skills
Highly motivated team player with excellent written and oral communication
