Responsibilities

Develop and own Best Operational Practices (BOPs) related to crystallization processes and audit these processes to standard to support consistent delivery and continuous improvement of process outcomes.

Provide technical support to maintenance and operations groups including process studies, troubleshooting, process optimization, and analysis of historical data to identify, monitor and control key operating parameters.

Keep historical data, to analyze and to monitor key efficiencies and parameters against design to assist operations with meeting costs and production goals.

Identify training needs and opportunities and assist in the development and delivery of training programs for process operators and maintenance personnel as required. Understand and integrate business and technical needs into all activities.

Develop and validate Standard Operating Procedures and completes Management of Change (MOC) to ensure technical proficiency and validity of documentation.

Routinely review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure that all processes and documentation adhere to Quality Management System (QMS) and FSSC22000 standards.

Provide technical support to project engineers when designing or redesigning work processes for improvements in performance and workplace safety.

Execute capital projects as assigned within scope, timing, and budget constraints.

Lead or serve as subject-matter-expert for Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for process deviations and incidents.

Lead and facilitate Continuous Improvement problem solving projects (PDCA, Kaizen, SMED, LSS) that support plant performance enhancement at all dimensions.

Drive and support initiatives to improve productivity, quality, and cost performance.

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or Food Engineering desired. Work experience and alternate education will also be considered.

Minimum 5 years of experience in Process Engineering in chemical, food processing, or petroleum industries.

Experience with industrial-scale crystallization, chromatography, or other rate-based separations.

Strong initiative and ability to deal with ambiguity.

Problem solving and decision-making skills.

Competency with word processing, database, and spreadsheet experience.

Proficiency in statistical data analysis.

Demonstrated coaching and mentorship capabilities.

Project management skills, including multi-tasking and time management.

Ability to lead a team and work as a team member with a variety of people at all levels within the organization.

Results-orientation and sense of urgency.

High level of integrity, care, sincerity, and ownership.

Proactivity and innovation with a strong will to succeed.
