Responsibilities

Review orders and interpret customer and sales specifications and translate into instructions for manufacture

Create Class I and Class II drawings, Single & Three Line, Schematic Diagrams, and customer approval documents

Oversee all Component Layout Drawings, Wiring Diagrams, Interconnection Diagrams, Wire Markers Spreadsheets, and Component Identification Labels Spreadsheets

Determine project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards

Execute assigned orders to ensure accuracy and on-time delivery of engineering drawings and documentation

Manage workload to provide quick turnaround on revise and resubmit requests

Create and support technical documentation consistent with engineering policies, standards, and procedures

Configure and manage BOMs, technical specifications sheets, and engineering drawings

Suggest design optimization concepts to increase order margin

Respond to factory floor requests with a high sense of urgency

Provide technical support across the whole order lifespan

Maintain a network of engineering professionals and share best practices

Complete all data entry including labor vouchering and required job milestone dates

Share appropriate engineering information through open dialogue with other functions

Participate in the investigation of technical problems and the establishment of procedures and corrective actions

Contribute to lessons learned by capturing mistakes and communicating to responsible parties

Embrace Engineering tools to drive efficiency and accuracy

Coach, provide support, and technical advice to colleagues

Promote open communication and maintain effective working relationships within the team and cross-functionally

Collaborate with upper leadership to create engineering documentation, standards, and best practices

Interact with customers, officials, contractors, and others

Attend project meetings and present specific aspects of engineering assignments

Perform other local tasks as required

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university and minimum 5 years relevant industry experience

Demonstrated analytical skills with ability to analyze and resolve problems

Demonstrated ability to read and interpret schematics & technical specifications

Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Ability to welcome change and work in fast-paced environment

Strong oral and written communication skills

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

Project management skills with ability to plan, execute & document programs / projects

Self-starter, ability to work with minimal supervision

Willingness to support off shift manufacturing teams

Working knowledge of ANSI/IEEE/NEMA Standards and UL/CSA certification

Experience working in a production or engineering environment

Computer skills in Office and experience with software design tools such as EPLAN and CREO
