Responsibilities

Investigate commercial insurance claims in various settings.

Conduct property inspections and photograph claim sites to depict and substantiate losses or damage.

Obtain necessary information from claimants and experts to assess the extent of the loss accurately.

Collaborate with expert witnesses, attorneys, and others to support evaluations.

Establish appropriate loss estimates based on insurance policies and policy interpretation.

Recommend the amount the insurance company should pay on a claim.

Ensure accuracy of information collected, guard against fraudulent claims, and prepare thorough reports and letters to insurance carriers.

Maintain accurate field notes, journal entries, and time records.

Required

Ability to understand claims adjudication process

Senior experience in commercial property adjusting or other insurance-related work to include Xactimate experience

Knowledge of commercial and residential construction industries

Knowledge of property claim law; skills in analyzing, interpreting, synthesizing, prioritizing, and reporting pertinent information and discerning the essential from the non-essential

Research and investigative abilities; negotiating, conflict resolution and persuasion abilities

Demonstration of knowledge and critical thinking skills

Active license, or ability to promptly obtain such, in the state of Texas
