Responsibilities

Develop novel methods and understanding of liquid droplet manipulation, using electrowetting.

Interact with electrical and firmware engineers to design and test control systems from the ground-up.

Design and perform experiments to optimize electrowetting technology by exploring parameter space (hardware/electronics/control) which may include: electrode geometry and layout, control patterns, dielectric stackup.

Lead materials selection for consumables (dielectrics, coatings).

Required

PhD in Physics, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a relevant field, or masters degree and 1-4+ years of industry experience

Experience interfacing with multi-disciplinary R&D and engineering teams

Familiarity with fluid dynamics

Experience in the development of physics-based models

Preferred

Experience with electronics and control systems

Experience with PCB design

Development and prototyping of fluidics systems and consumables

Experience in research and development of electrowetting processes or platforms

Experience with characterization of polymer films and coatings
