Responsibilities

Understand policy, business and clinical issues and map them into quantitative questions at the appropriate level of inquiry.

Identify scientifically valid study designs based on research questions and available data sources.

Contribute to study conceptualization, literature reviews and study protocol development.

Explore internal and external data sources to understand what metrics can be produced.

Work with complex healthcare databases to complete descriptive and inferential analyses, produce statistical output and interpret results.

Prepare and deliver presentations, abstracts, white papers and manuscripts to communicate study findings to a broad range of audiences.

Required

Master’s degree with quantitative research focus in health services research, health economics, quantitative social science or related field.

Familiarity with SAS.

Proficiency in at least one statistical coding language.

Experience conducting protocol based, collaborative research.

Experience working with large and dynamic real-world data sources, such as administrative claims databases or electronic health records, for observational studies.

Knowledge of various methodologies used in health services research such as multivariate regression, propensity score analysis, inverse probability treatment weighting, difference in difference, interrupted time series analysis, regression discontinuity designs, etc.

Ability to work independently and efficiently to manage multiple competing projects and initiatives.

Ability to create and document a research/analytical plan, complete in depth analysis, and interpret results.

Strong verbal and written communication with the ability to present analytical data and insights to a wide variety of audiences.

Preferred

Master’s Degree or PhD with quantitative research focus in health services research, health economics, quantitative social science or related field.

Advanced knowledge of SAS.

Understanding of healthcare policy and managed care.
