Senior Risk Analyst-Insurance

Responsibilities
Actuarial Reporting
Request and compile loss-run data across all insurance carriers, review and clarify discrepancies
Quarterly review with external actuaries regarding notable claim developments and reserves and provide information necessary for actuary report
Inform Accounting/Finance on the completed actuarial report and discuss accruals
Financial Reporting
Prepare annual reports detailing insurance budget and actuals
Prepare annual reports regarding total cost of risk (TCOR)
Overall Department Budget Management
Update Risk Management’s annual budget numbers based on info provided from insurance renewals
Continually track budget changes and report changes to internal finance
Calculate budget projections for renewal cycle
Payment tracking related to insurance premiums/claim payments, and broker fees on the department budget
Track claim expenses, payments and deductible exhaustion
Claim Analysis
Track claim expenses, payments and deductible exhaustion
Review and investigate details, compile documentation, determine liability/valuation, discuss strategy with outside counsel, business and TPA
Communicate with insurer re claim management
Update accounting/finance team re major claims
Work with location stakeholders to assess the extent of damage/losses and cost estimates for property and environmental claims
Participate in quarterly claim reviews with TPAs on strategy and reserves
Renewal Submission Data Gathering
Gather required documentation for application submissions
Coordinate with internal stakeholders regarding additional inquiries from carriers
Ensure all renewal documentation is submitted timely through management of internal stakeholders

Required
A BA/BS degree, preferably in Risk Management, Business, Finance, or Accounting
A minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in Risk Management, commercial insurance, or brokerage company
Highly organized with excellent project management skills and Budget management
Demonstrated knowledge of Property and Casualty insurance coverage with claims management experience.
Preferred
ARM, or other Risk Management designation preferred
