Responsibilities

Work closely with project managers, privacy, and other engineers to define requirements, design, and deliver solutions.

Lead by example within the team by creating sustainable code designs, producing extensible and maintainable code, and testing all code thoroughly. Optimize, debug, refactor, and reuse code to improve performance and maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI).

Review the code of a product to ensure it meets the team's and Microsoft's quality standards, is reliable and accurate, and is appropriate for the scale of the product/solution area.

Drive efforts to ensure the correct processes are followed to achieve a high degree of security, privacy, safety, and accessibility. Create and ensure the presence of visible evidence to demonstrate compliance for products.

Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guide other engineers by developing and following the playbook, working on call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions. Drive efforts to reduce incident volume, looking globally at incidences and providing broad resolutions.

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python + OR equivalent experience

Preferred

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python + OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python + OR equivalent experience.

7+ years of software design and development experience with middle tier or backend services.

5+ years hands on experience in any Object-Oriented coding language such as C++, C#, Java or Python. Cloud and services experience; Azure cloud experience.

Solid communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Ability to motivate, mentor, and develop other engineers and provide technical leadership with a Growth Mindset and desire to learn, a tendency to embrace challenges, persist in the face of setback, see failures as essential to mastery, learn from criticism and find lessons and inspiration in the success of others.
