Responsibilities

Contribute to setting the architectural direction for the Data Platform

Optimize existing Data Platform infrastructure, tooling, and data pipelines

Implement a new Data Platform API layer

Work closely with Engineering, Analytics, Data Science, Product, and other data platform users

Explore new technologies and bring expertise to AKASA

Mentor less senior team members

Required

BS in Computer Science/Software Engineering, or similar

5-7+ years of software engineering or data engineering experience

Strong professional experience in at least one of the following programming languages (or a comparable language): Python, Java, C#, Ruby, Kotlin

Strong SQL experience

Cloud computing experience (AWS preferably)

Able to work on greenfield projects as well as take ownership of existing projects

Deep knowledge of software development fundamentals including both object oriented design and functional programming

Highly self-sufficient and self-starting in solving complex problems and conducting projects end-to-end

A passion and excitement about healthcare’s unique challenges and opportunities

Data Warehouses (Amazon Redshift preferably)

Scheduling/orchestration technologies such as Prefect or Airflow

Kubernetes
