Responsibilities
Develop detailed design documents and C4-application diagrams from business requirements.
Break down high-level designs from architects into low-level designs and communicate these to the team for implementation.
Mentor and coach other engineers and QA team members, establishing and enforcing coding best practices, performing code reviews, and ensuring quality delivery and procedural compliance.
Develop and execute unit test plans, including regression testing, and assist in developing functional test plans to verify system functionality according to requirements and guidelines.
Perform application administration and support, triaging and resolving integration issues, documenting, and tracking product defects, and implementing solutions.
Adhere to good database design practices, develop complex queries, and update tables in collaboration with DBAs.
Contribute to and follow Avalon’s Agile/SAFe process for developing, testing, maintaining, and deploying code.

Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science, or a related discipline; or the equivalent years of relevant business and technical experience; Advanced degree desired.
A minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in application software development, maintenance, implementation, and support
Experience developing applications using Jetty, Apache Camel, Drools/rules engines, Red Hat Linux, SoapUI, Postman, Docker, AWS EC2, ECS/Fargate, AWS SQS, Spring Framework, Sprint Boot, Apache Kafka, AWS Lambda.
Experience with MS SQL Server and T-SQL.
Experience using standard middleware interface/integration architecture and techniques (SOA, Web services, SOAP / WSDL / XML, REST, SAML, APIs, Microservices).
Strong written and oral communication skills.
History of working in an Agile software development environment.

Proven success delivering and supporting high quality solutions on time.
Preferred
Healthcare knowledge or experience preferred.
Experience working with Document DB / Mongo DB
BPMN understanding is a plus.
Prior experience with IBM BAMOe (Business Automation Manager) will be preferred.
Planning, developing, and deploying high volume, mission-critical software applications in a healthcare environment.
Knowledge or experience with HIPAA regulations and standards for security (PHI, IIHI), privacy and transactions.
Experience in Docker, and container-orchestration, would be a plus.
Experience with Prometheus / Grafana / PagerDuty would be a plus.
Experience with OpenSearch would be a plus.
Effective collaboration with product owners, engineering leads, and architects.
