Responsibilities

Prepares/performs and checks structural analysis, design plans, specifications, and estimates for bridge projects while working collaboratively with multi-discipline design teams

Ability to serve in a lead technical role on bridge or structural design projects

Develops/prepares construction documents (drawings, specification, and cost estimate)

Maintains knowledge of state DOT and local agency design standards and criteria, practices, and policies

Performs structural analysis/design and lead/mentor team members through the design process

Design projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools

May perform structural inspections/field investigations (if needed) and develop related reports

Coordinate with internal team members to ensure project completion by the defined deadline and established quality

Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope

May manage project sub-consultants and in-house support disciplines

Attend meetings with clients

Required

Proficient in discipline-specific design software (i.e. LEAP Bridge Enterprise, LPile, MDX, CSiBridge, Merlin DASH, Bentley Microstation and /or OpenRoads/Bridge software)

Proficient in plan development using Microstation

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Written and communication skills

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited engineering program

10+ years’ experience in bridge design and analysis, including plan development
