Senior Substation Physical Design Engineer

Responsibilities
Execute substation physical projects for a range of clients including utilities and commercial/industrial customers.
Read and design substation physical drawings such as one-line, three-line, foundation, and grounding drawings.
Perform QA/QC checks on substation physical design projects and create bill of materials.
Lead design teams, ensure compliance with project scope, schedule, and budget.
Interact with clients, implement designs based on standards, and assist with client management.

Required
Minimum bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related degree with ten or more years of related substation physical design experience
Experience with grounding studies/lightning protection and lighting studies
Experience in substation design (medium, high, and extra-high voltage) and IEEE/ANSI standards
Strong analytical skills and proven problem solver in both team and independent environments
A high level of technical competency which may include: WinIGS, CDEGS, MicroStation, AutoCAD, Revit
Proficiency with SEL or GE relays
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with the internal team and clients to meet project needs and deadlines
Collaborator and leader who can work effectively in a team environment
Preferred
Engineer in Training (EIT) professional certification
Professional Engineer (PE) License
Master's degree in a related field
