Responsibilities
Assigned to complex styles and mentors the Technical Designer. Act as the go-to expert for a specific category, product, or technical skill.
Receive, prepare, and manage samples efficiently.
Accurately measure samples and identify any out-of-tolerance points of measurement (POMs).
Review construction and quality to ensure that products align with FINESSE standards.
Identify potential product, quality and costing issues and make appropriate recommendations.
Own TOP fittings and execute fit comments using written and visual methods.
Leads fit session on live model and dress form for assigned styles.
Collaborate with the cross-functioning teams to ensure design, wash, fabric quality and fit intent are achieved.
Escalate any critical issues to superiors for input and direction.
Execute clear and concise fit comments and spec updates promptly to ensure the fit process aligns with production and action timelines.
Establish grade rules are being used and problem-solve grading where necessary in order to maintain fit consistency.
Maintain professional and timely email correspondence with overseas vendors.
Update and track development WIP report.
Track and manage workflow and workload for assigned styles.
Organize and maintain technical design tools efficiently.
Strong pattern and style organization
Upholds brand standards and shares pragmatic ideas for innovation or perpetual improvement
Provide a clear understanding of factory partner capabilities.
Able to adapt and work outside established processes when required, ensuring the department's quality remains uncompromised.

Required
10+ years of advanced experience in the apparel industry, focusing on technical design across multiple categories or specialized in a product category and proven as a subject matter expert.
Must be proficient in listening skills coupled with working knowledge of fit, pattern making, construction methods, technical drawing, and production parameters
Advanced understanding of grade rules for Women’s categories. Inclusive sizing experience is a plus.
Experience with leading live fittings and evaluating overall fit with input from the Product Development team with ability to make accurate fit corrections to achieve the desired intent.
Knowledge and proven as a senior technical designer for product categories carried by FINESSE
Knowledge of preparing and writing product specification sheets.
Proficient in MS Office & Google Workspace (Excel, Word, Docs, & Sheets) and Adobe Suite applications (Illustrator & Photoshop).
Capability to identify apparel flaws and potential production issues effectively.
Ability to prioritize effectively and follow instructions diligently.
Sense of urgency and ability to maintain quality standards.
Team-oriented; ability to excel in a team-based structure.
Strong communication (Verbal & Written) and organizational skills.
Self-motivated, capable of multitasking, and adept at resolving issues promptly.
Advanced working knowledge of trims and materials in the apparel industry.
Preferred
Advanced understanding of grade rules for Women’s categories. Inclusive sizing experience is a plus.
