Responsibilities

Technical lead and mentor for traffic engineering staff in New Jersey

Lead the development of multiple concurrent projects and tasks

Represent JMT in client meetings

Develop relationships with senior leadership in key client organizations

Coordinate with multi-disciplined teams. Manage schedule and budget for project tasks

Plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate detailed phases of engineering work in a major project or total project of moderate scope

Utilize various design software/tools (Synchro, HCS, and/or VISSIM) for traffic analysis for a variety of conditions to perform traffic modeling and analysis, including signal systems

Prepare or lead the preparation of technical reports including traffic impact, transportation planning, and traffic safety. Work elements may include volume development calculations, crash evaluations/safety assessments, and HSM analysis

Design projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools

Assist in the preparation of engineering documents for advertisement and construction

Develop scope and fee for task proposals

Lead or assist in the development of marketing proposals

Attend meetings with clients

Assist with the development of the project schedule

Coordinate with internal team members to ensure project completion by the defined deadline and established quality

Required

Proficient in traffic modeling and analysis software

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Written and communication skills

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited engineering program

10+ years’ experience in traffic engineering

Professional Engineer License

Preferred

Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE)

Experience working with local clients at the county and state level

Experience with PANYNJ and NJDOT
