Responsibilities
Evaluate and analyze new and renewal insurance applications to assess risk and determine appropriate terms and conditions.
Develop and implement underwriting guidelines and policies to ensure consistency and compliance with industry regulations.
Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to provide technical support and expertise in underwriting strategies and risk management.
Conduct in-depth research and analysis on market trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory changes to inform underwriting decisions.
Prepare detailed underwriting reports and presentation materials for internal and external stakeholders.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior underwriters, enhancing their skills and knowledge in underwriting practices.
Stay current on industry developments and best practices to drive continuous improvement in underwriting processes.

Required
Minimum of 5 years of experience in underwriting within the insurance industry, with a focus on commercial or specialty lines.
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or a related field.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating with various teams and clients.
Proficient in underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong aptitude for technology.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a remote work environment.
Preferred
Professional designations (e.g., CPCU, AU) are preferred.
