Short Term Consultant - Multimedia Content Creator and Communications

Responsibilities
Capturing and presenting success stories from WBG projects that demonstrate measurable impacts on economic growth, poverty reduction, sustainability, and resilience in diverse regions.
Creating multimedia content that can be used in various formats (video, infographic, photography, social media posts) to ensure accessibility and reach to a broad range of audiences.
Developing content that adheres to World Bank Group brand standards and aligns with organizational goals and messaging.
Develop engaging visual narratives to showcase World Bank project outcomes, including case studies, beneficiary stories, project milestones, and impact reports. Particularly emphasis will be paid to communicate the way in which WBG strategies create new and better jobs.
Capture video footage and photography on-site (if applicable) to document project impacts.
Create short- and long-form video content, infographics, and animations to communicate complex information in an accessible and engaging manner.
Conduct interviews with project beneficiaries, stakeholders, and WB experts to add depth to content.
Translate reports, background documents, and other materials into engaging, highly visual and innovative presentations.
Collaborate with the Communications Team to plan, develop, and execute a content strategy that aligns with the World Bank’s goals.
Propose a schedule for content delivery to maximize impact around key project timelines and events.
Identify and recommend multimedia formats and distribution channels to enhance reach and engagement.
Create platform-optimized content (social media videos, GIFs, Instagram Stories, LinkedIn articles, etc.) for use on World Bank social media accounts.
Develop strategies to increase engagement and awareness on social media platforms, using multimedia content as a core tool.
Monitor digital analytics and adjust strategies based on engagement and reach.
Draft blogs summarizing technical content for wider audiences.
Regular update the Department’s internal and external websites, generating interest and augmenting traffic.
Ensure that all content meets World Bank quality standards and adheres to World Bank guidelines for ethical storytelling, accuracy, and respect for the dignity of subjects.
Review and edit multimedia content for quality, accuracy, and cultural sensitivity.
Obtain necessary permissions and clearances for all multimedia assets, including consent from interviewees and visual releases.
Content Plan: A detailed plan with a timeline, content types, and key messaging themes.
At least 3 short-form videos (2-5 minutes) per quarter.
At least 5 of infographics or animated explainers per quarter.
High-quality images with captions and descriptions.
Multiple highly visually and creative presentations for internal and external outreach.
2 Blogs per quarter
Platform-optimized content packages with captions and engagement strategies for various WB platforms.
Monthly Reports: Reports detailing content performance, engagement metrics, and recommendations for improvement.
Final Project Report: A summary report outlining the impact of the multimedia campaign, lessons learned, and recommendations for future communication efforts.

Required
Master’s degree in communications, Journalism, Media Production, or a related field.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in multimedia content creation, journalism, or related fields, preferably with a focus on international development or social impact.
Proficiency in video production, graphic design, photography, and editing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro).
Proven experience in storytelling and creating visually engaging content for diverse audiences.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
Excellent communication skills, including proficiency in English.
Preferred
Knowledge of additional languages is an asset.
Experience working in international development or with global organizations.
