Responsibilities

Manage and monitor Snowflake environments, ensuring availability, performance, and scalability of data infrastructure.

Execute and monitor ETL jobs, address performance bottlenecks, and tune workloads for optimal efficiency.

Perform data warehouse and schema design to support business needs.

Develop and implement database maintenance plans, backup strategies, and disaster recovery solutions.

Implement and manage data security, user access controls, and role-based permissions to ensure compliance with data governance standards.

Collaborate with security teams to monitor data access, encryption, and compliance requirements.

Optimize queries, manage resource consumption, and tune Snowflake performance parameters to achieve cost efficiency and system stability.

Implement partitioning, clustering, and materialized views for better data retrieval performance.

Develop automation scripts using Python, SQL, or other languages to streamline database management tasks and monitoring.

Automate and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines to improve data processing efficiency.

Work closely with data engineering, data science, and analytics teams to support their data needs and enable advanced data solutions.

Collaborate with cloud infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration with cloud resources (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Required

Must-Have: SnowPro Core Certification

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; relevant experience may be considered.

5+ years of experience in database administration, with at least 2 year of hands-on experience in Snowflake.

Proficiency in SQL, query tuning, and understanding of data warehouse concepts.

Experience with data integration tools (e.g., Fivetran, Matillion, dbt) and cloud platforms

Familiarity with security best practices and data governance in Snowflake.

Strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to database management.

Preferred

Snowflake certification (e.g., SnowPro Core) is a plus.

Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.) for automation.

Familiarity with other cloud data warehousing solutions or tools like Databricks, BigQuery, or Redshift.

Knowledge of data visualization and BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
