Responsibilities

Completes the design, construction, development, testing, implementation, and technology delivery for business needs throughout VSP Vision.

Design, code/develop, test and implement moderately complex systems

Design solutions to solve moderately complex business problems, considering operational and functional aspects of the solution, and demonstrating an understanding of the business function

Research and permanently resolve system problems and incidents

Mentor Apprentice and Associate Software Engineers to allow for skill/knowledge development through advice, coaching, and training opportunities

Required

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience

4+ years of programming experience

Proficient programming experience in one or more current programming languages

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong technical knowledge of all phases of application development including analysis and programming

Exercises discretion and independent judgment in the performance of his/her job duties

Preferred

Java 7 and above

Web development and JS Frameworks: JavaScript, Typescript, HTML5, Angular, NodeJS

Microservices, OAuth2.0

Spring Boot, Spring framework (Core, MVC)

Testing frameworks - Junit, Mockito, Postman, Jmeter

Experience working with DB2, MS Sql Server, CI/CD software and DevOps tools including Chef, Jenkins
