Responsibilities

Implement and maintain the Bazel build system for various products within the MongoDB ecosystem.

Support over 750 internal engineers by providing ongoing assistance and enhancing build-related capabilities.

Contribute to improving developer experience by participating in project design, development, and testing of solutions.

Collaborate with colleagues to understand pain points, propose improvements, and lead projects to enhance developer satisfaction.

Required

Familiarity with (or deep interest in) build systems

Have contributed to various stages of developer productivity work (e.g.: assessing user needs, building consensus for a proposal, exploring options for implementation, providing useful updates on progress, measuring value-delivered, etc.)

Experience with one of these languages: C++, Java, Go, Python

Dedicated to writing maintainable, well-tested code, with modern best practices

Energized by supporting customer requests, including thoughtful technical support and empowering customers to self-service their own solutions

Preferred

Administration/maintenance of a Bazel build system on a large codebase

C++ expertise

Integrating static analysis tools (e.g.: sanitizers, graph visualization, code coverage, debuggers, profilers)

Speeding up compile times

Compiler internals

Docker containers and package management
