Responsibilities

Design/build shared features.

Build coherent designs with multiple components interacting across API or system boundaries.

Establish and maintain development and coding standards.

Push for continuous improvement and provide mentorship to other developers whilst advocating for regular pair programming and test-driven development.

Initiate and participate in technical decisions affecting the larger development organization.

Estimate, break down, and sequence large pieces of work for iterative delivery.

Contribute to software architecture design, refactoring, and solutioning.

Actively build a high-performing development team, including developing unit tests, participating in code reviews, and mentoring developers.

Collaborate with Development, Product Management, and QA teams to identify requirements, design new features, estimate efforts, and deliver on the product roadmap.

Collaborate with Technical Leads and Architecture team to adhere to Product & Engineering Tenets:

Avoid throw-away work serving short-term or module-specific goals.

Act as a liaison between the Enterprise Architecture team and Agile Software Delivery team, proposing solutions to the Architectural Review Board.

Advocate for appropriate upgrades, replacements, and decommissioning options for modules, capabilities, and other services.
