Responsibilities

Actively analyze, manage, and provide tactical and strategic expertise to the portfolio(s) of strategic and/or broader and more complex initiatives and projects.

Lead the development of processes, standards, policies, and templates as necessary to support and provide thought leadership on the portfolio(s) management function.

Perform more complex portfolio planning, analysis, resource (capacity and demand) forecasting and/or budget planning.

Ensure all projects and initiatives adhere to approved processes

Lead and/or contribute to the development of project and program business cases, with careful understanding of customer requirements.

Analyze business cases for validation of projected costs, benefits, and impacts

Track and trend planned estimates versus actual work efforts and maintain estimating models/templates for shared resources.

Model what-if scenarios of changes in the enterprise portfolio in support of long-term capacity planning.

Identify gaps in the capacity versus demand and escalate risks to the long-term capacity planning.

Define metrics for the resource planning function and ensure that the metrics are produced and communicated on a timely basis.

Responsible for creating and driving a consolidated resource forecast/demand process for enterprise project work

Prepare executive-level status reports and presentations regarding portfolio health and/or status

Monitor projects to ensure realized business value and to proactively identify and manage portfolio-level risks, issues, and dependencies

Communicate problems, issues, risks, solutions, etc. both via written and oral methods to stakeholders and applicable leadership

Assess customer/client satisfaction through direct feedback/evaluation

Lead continuous improvement initiatives with a focus on solutions to improve enterprise efficiencies

Serve as a subject matter expert for project and portfolio tools and methodologies; also responsible for maximizing use of the portfolio planning tool for planning processes.

Collaborate with system administrators and resource managers to customize and configure workflow and enabling technology to facilitate the resource planning function.
