Responsibilities
Design, develop, modify, and evaluate electronic, electro-mechanical, or mechanical components for hardware systems.
Lead the standardization of rack SKUs and the buildout of a standardized cabling solution.
Organize project technical landmarks, supporting tasks, and coordinate efforts of engineers.
Serve as a technical subject matter expert in multi-functional activities and provide guidance to junior staff.
Collaborate with vendor engineering and account managers to address business or operational issues.
Participate in the development of RFQ/RFPs and lead the adoption of new vendor hardware.
Drive technology to meet product and service requirements and assess gaps and needs in coordination with product teams and PMO.

Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
8 years of experience in network hardware engineering
Experience in cabling, low level device performance, thermals, etc.
Experience in developing and deploying physical rack layouts
Experience in test/qualification of physical components deployed by Network Engineering
Experience in leading the standardization of rack SKUs and cabling solutions
Experience in decomposing high-level architectures into detailed designs
Experience in developing network solutions consisting of multiple modules with complex interactions
Experience in collaborating with vendor engineering and account manager
Experience in driving technology to meet product and service requirements
Experience in participating in the development of RFQ/RFPs
Experience in leading the adoption of new vendor hardware
Experience in providing technical coaching and development to junior members
Knowledge of current and future cabling and optical standards
Knowledge of cable plant design, rack structural calculations, and rack integration best practices
Ability to interpret guidance from leaders and provide focused development to junior members
Ability to serve as a technical subject matter expert in multi-functional activities
Ability to collaborate across teams and with leadership at various levels
Strong communication skills

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
