Responsibilities
Independently evaluate, select and apply engineering principles
Define project objectives, prepare design estimates, and define project requirements and design approaches for large or complex projects
Determine design approach and prepare required design documents
Conceptualize the initial design approach for a major phase of a large project
Prepare and verify calculations using engineering formulas and skills or application specific software as required
Manage assignments of other design team members to ensure adherence to scope, schedule and budget
Direct project design teams comprised of engineers, designers and technicians on a single project
Monitor project execution milestones and schedules to ensure projects are completed on schedule
Perform technical and coordination checking/ review of deliverables and other project documents
Ensure deliverables comply with Business Unit procedures and meet applicable design requirements
Follow up on construction issues with design staff to resolve problems and concerns in a timely manner
Identify conflicting design or schedule requirements and generate Project Deviation Notices in a timely fashion

Supervising less experienced engineers or technical support personnel on an assignment basis
