Responsibilities
Serves as lead engineer on mid- to large size projects.
Provides specialized technical input and oversight to studies and designs for bridge and other transportation structural elements such as culverts and walls.
Reviews submittals and shop drawings.
Evaluate design calculations for projects.
Examines existing structures and load ratings.
Prepares necessary plans, specifications, estimates and technical memorandums.
Approves and signs off on work.
Presents complex technical solutions to clients.
Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others.
Participates in development of technical proposals.
Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements on large projects.
Market bridge and structural design services to clients.
Lead junior engineers and work successfully on a team.
Other duties as assigned.

Required
Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or related + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
PE (Professional Engineer) in South Carolina or ability to transfer through reciprocity
Preferred
Knowledge of industry standards and practices
Experience with Local SCDOT projects
Master’s Degree
Experience presenting at conferences, on papers or technical meetings
