Responsibilities
Perform structural load calculations and bridge plan / specifications development.
Oversee geometric layout and quantity development.
Check design calculations / construction cost estimates / plan development produced by other engineers.
Typical bridge projects include precast concrete girder (pre-stressed and/or post-tensioned) and steel plate or steel box girder for highway, waterway, and rail projects.
Strong technical skills in Engineering analysis and design combined with a proven background of technical leadership on these types of projects.
Perform as a Technical Specialist or Project Manager on large projects and supervise Junior Engineers in the performance of engineering tasks.
Manage an existing Bridge Design team with increasing managerial responsibilities as time progresses (1-3 years into the future).
Report preparation and frequent client interaction.

Required
BSCE required
Active PE registration required
8+ years of combined bridge design and PM experience required
Strong technical skills in Engineering analysis and design combined with a proven background of technical leadership on these types of projects
Ability to work with various teams – internal and external - is required
Preferred
MSCE in Structural Engineering preferred
ODOT project experience strongly preferred although not mandatory
10+ years of combined design and PM experience strongly preferred
Prior Supervisory experience (team, office, etc.) preferred
Extensive experience in all aspects of bridge design projects
Experience with Bridge Inspection is preferred but not required
Hydraulic Analysis experience as a desired skill including HEC-RAS
Knowledge of MicroStation is preferred
Computer program proficiency: Microsoft Office, Structural analysis software (LARSA, SAP etc.), Structural design software (LEAP products BDS products PCA Col etc.)
Demonstrated leadership and communication skills
