Responsibilities
Meaningfully improve the health of the payroll system (the core of business) by introducing gradual type checking to our system.
Help scale one of the largest Ruby/Rails and TypeScript/React applications in the world.
Build products that facilitate the compliant and on-time payment of millions of people through payroll.
Own what you build end to end as you implement, review, test, and iterate on system health improvements to the payroll codebase.

Required
At least 4 years of professional Software Engineering experience in Ruby on Rails.
Experience with Sorbet (static type checking for Ruby), or similar type checker systems.
Experience with GitHub and CI/CD pipelines.
Comfort navigating a monolithic codebase that is complex and often ambiguous. Ability to ask for help and clarification when needed.
Independently able to deliver production ready code with high autonomy and minimal guidance.
Strong English written and verbal communication skills.
Overlap with US time zones.
