Responsibilities

Subject Matter Expert responsible for design, implementation, and ongoing support of the network architecture

Supports facility openings via network design, equipment selection, and implementation

Monitor, collect, correlate, and identify network related logs, events

Participate as part of the overall security team, helping identify and implement both defense-in-depth and zero-trust boundaries

Ensure best security practices and provide technical consulting on the use of cloud access security broker (CASB), access control, intrusion detection and prevention, and threat correlation

Creates and maintains configuration standards for network devices

Responsible for device maintenance, both physical and virtual

Member of the incident response team (CIRT)

Support all cloud based (AWS & Azure) network assets including Cisco CSRs and Virtual WAN devices

Required

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience and appropriate certifications may count towards degree requirement.

Minimum of 7-10 years of related IT experience with significant job responsibilities tied to both physical and cloud networking environments

5+ years’ experience in IT security

5+ years of experience in IT systems administration

Experience maintaining systems and access control in a multi-cloud environment (AWS and Azure)

Understanding of cloud native networking fundamentals

Experience with Palo Alto firewalls

Expert knowledge of network protocols including OSPF

Familiarity with SD WAN technologies

Strong Experience with common scripting languages (Python, Perl, or PowerShell)

Experience with Linux and Windows cloud deployments

Experience with cloud networking specifically in AWS, Azure

Experience with hybrid networks (cloud & on premise)

Working knowledge of WAF (web application firewalls), IDS, and FIM platforms

Experience with ELK, Splunk, and at least one SIEM platform

Familiar with CloudWatch, CloudTrail, CloudSOC, or similar tools

Knowledge of at least one scripting language (Python, Ruby, etc.)

Strong ethics and understanding of ethics in business and information security

Working knowledge of PCI and SOX control and reporting requirements

Confident self-starter

Ability to plan and manage complex networking projects, working collaboratively with both technologists, vendors, and business operations teams

Can balance near term operational responsiveness with longer term project improvement projects

Excellent verbal and written communication

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

Experience in working with cross-functional teams

Ability to mentor junior engineers

Preferred

CCNP (or equivalent) certification preferred, or a willingness to pursue an industry standard qualification

Experience with Akamai based CDN/Security solutions is a plus.
