Responsibilities

Performing project management duties including scope development, contract administration, schedule and budget management
Providing design technical engineering services for civil engineering projects and serving as construction project managers
Coordinating projects with stakeholders and regulatory agencies
Conducting hydrology and hydraulics analysis for stormwater drainage system design
Preparing technical presentations, reports, plans, correspondence, agreements, and ordinances
Overseeing construction and professional services projects
Ensuring positive delivery of infrastructure projects through service and construction contracts
Developing and managing project schedules and budgets
Preparing and reviewing technical presentations, reports, agreements, engineering and construction drawings, contracts, plans, and correspondence
Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, attending meetings, and providing technical expertise
Managing special projects, providing guidance, coordinating operations, and researching solutions
Supervising support/paraprofessional staff, coordinating operations, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures
Preparing professional civil engineering work for various municipal engineering projects and systems
Providing technical and administrative support, responding to questions or concerns, and completing special projects
Tracking multiple projects, documenting project status, and providing administrative and technical support

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Project Management Environmental Engineering, Biological Engineering, or a directly related field OR equivalent experience
Five years of related engineering and/or project management experience
Valid North Carolina Class C Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record acquired within a time frame established by the City
Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
Thorough knowledge of hydrology, hydraulics, stormwater infrastructure and stormwater regulatory requirements
Working knowledge of Access databases, ArcGIS, Excel spreadsheets, project management software and routine accounting practices
Stormwater Construction Project Management Experience
Proficient working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, AutoCAD Civil 3D

Preferred

A minimum of six months of experience in areas related to the design, construction, maintenance, and/or regulation of stormwater infrastructure
Experience in or with stormwater maintenance/regulations in municipalities
