Responsibilities

Identify opportunities for straight-through claims processing; collaborate with technology partners to enhance machine learning models that support claims processing, while also participating in model validation

Provide analytical support on other business questions (e.g., distribution channel economics, lifetime value analyses, etc.)

Utilize analytics tools (e.g., SQL, SAS, Python) to accurately assemble data sets from complex data environments

Develop and maintain reporting solutions

Present complex analytical information succinctly and clearly to all levels of management

Partner and collaborate effectively with leaders from across the business

Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree in STEM or related quantitative field. In lieu of degree, a high school diploma and 5+ years of analytics work experience in the insurance industry within a product role.

Insurance experience in a product role (2+ year of experience)

2+ years of experience with actuarial analysis such as regression, pricing or product within the insurance industry using complex analytical methods

2+ years of coding using SQL within a complex data environment.

Proficient in Python for data manipulation(required)

Preferred

Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., mathematics, statistics, economics)

Insurance industry – preferred pet insurance

3+ years of coding using SQL, or Python for data analytics

Demonstrated ability to navigate complex data tables/structures

Demonstrated proficiency in MS Excel (e.g., pivot tables, filters, database functions, VBA, etc.)

Advanced degree with emphasis in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Decision Science, Operation Research, Engineering or another quantitative field preferred

Experience managing, moving, and manipulating data from multiple sources

Familiarity with consumer and commercial lending products and practices

Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, ThoughtSpot, or Power BI

Ability to clearly explain technical and analytical information (verbally, written, and in presentation form) and summarize for key stakeholders

Outstanding communications, relationship building, influencing, and collaboration skills

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

Excellent organization skills and strong attention to detail

Ability to provide analytic support including pulling data, preparing analysis, interpreting data, making strategic recommendations, and presenting to client/product teams
