Responsibilities

All assigned substation projects from conception (Early Stage) through construction and commissioning (Execution).

In the conceptual phase, work with the Early-Stage Project Manager to support engineering requirements and scope with the Development Group.

Plan, coordinate and complete large-scale or several medium or small, complex or long-term project(s) within budgetary and scheduling guidelines.

Develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.

Secure required resources and manage resources, budgets, risks and changes using formal processes and tools.

Conduct project meetings, track project progress, and analyze results.

Identify issues, measure results, implement solutions, and provide information to internal and external clients on moderate to complex issues.

Create and communicate presentation materials for report out and updates with various stakeholders.

Provide training, due diligence, and technical oversight of external engineers of record for all assigned substation projects.

Coordinate with project stakeholders to develop and secure a substation site, support engineering updates, data, and permits necessary for design and construction.

Competitively source, select and contract geotechnical, survey, engineering, and construction services.

Coordinate engineering deliverables for FERC Order 1000 competitive request for proposals and awarded projects.

Ensure E&C substation projects are successful by representing internal and external interests, including briefing on progress, issues, and risk mitigation.

Support Transmission Services during review of interconnection documentation and ensure project deliverables meet specific requirements.

Manage project long lead major material orders, support E&C Estimating, and collaborate with component OEMs.

Conduct external research, provide coaching and leadership to project team, and perform other job-related duties as assigned.
