Responsibilities

Manage the electronic account payable and expense reporting system (Bill.com).
Process distributions timely and accurately to donor-designated charities.
Collect background information/due diligence documentation on vendors.
Review invoices and check requests and resolve any issues/discrepancies with managers/ employees.
Track invoices against vendor schedules.
Support annual filing of 1099s to vendors (1096 to IRS).
Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual invoices; track payment and issue statements of account to clients.
Monitor and initiate communication on all accounts receivable issues to decrease outstanding items.
Merchant account management – creating, reviewing, monitoring, and initiating communication on all issues to decrease outstanding items.
Assist in preparing audit schedules and 990 tax preparation.
Willingness to accept additional assignments and be flexible in a dynamic work environment.

Required

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
1-3 years in accounting or finance, preferably within the nonprofit sector
Solid understanding of not-for-profit accounting practices
Ability to work independently while demonstrating strong customer service and clear communication with colleagues and clients
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to prioritize tasks and efficiently manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines
Proficient in QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, Microsoft Office (especially Excel), and online accounting platforms
Familiarity with GAAP and current accounting regulations
Ability to identify problems, recommend improvements, and ensure compliance
Thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments and handles ambiguity well
Eager to learn new systems
Service-oriented mindset and focus on continuous improvement
Ability to maintain confidentiality and be a collaborative team player

Preferred

Knowledge of grant management systems
Knowledge of banking cash management
Knowledge of IT systems integration
