Staff Accountant - Accounts Payable Specialist

Responsibilities
Work on multiple duties, tasks, and projects, leveraging technical and issue solving skills.
Record-to-report – Ensure proper daily accounting, predominantly centralizing accounts payable, and bookkeeping including assisting on month-end accounting closes.
Capture and record all accounting related transactions for subsidiaries.
Support the development and enhancement of accounting principles, practices, and procedures to satisfy Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
Primarily responsible for timely and accurate transactional book keeping, ownership over the centralized accounts payable process, enhancement of the centralized accounts payable process, and assisting with closing the books and records for month end, quarter-end, and year-end.
ERP accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems and ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Maintain internal controls and appropriate accounting safeguard practices within subsidiary and corporate.
Responsible for timely and accurate bank reconciliations, transactions and compliance.
Work with external auditors in connection with the independent audits and reviews.
Consistently perform analytical reviews.
Prepare as needed ad-hoc financial statements and analyses.
Proactively research and analyze accounting standards.
Work closely with other subsidiary personnel and operations in a team environment to complete tasks and duties, and also work independently and be able to problem solve.

Required
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
Must be proficient in QuickBooks accounting software and Microsoft Excel; QuickBooks Advanced is a plus.
Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar role within the financial accounting sector.
Strong background in bookkeeping, accounts payable, multi locations in centralized accounting environment, month-end close, transactional accounting, and consolidations.
Excellent financial acumen with the ability to prepare financial statements and perform account reconciliations.
Familiarity with corporate finance principles and practices.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
A “can do attitude” on a routine day to day basis.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Practical knowledge of GAAP, SOX and key accounting concepts.
Strong organizational, time management, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills.
Must be highly analytical, solutions oriented and able to see the “big picture”.
Ability to excel in an agile, flexible, high-growth, scaling fast-paced environment.

Preferred
CPA license (is a plus).
Recent experience in a publicly traded company or public accounting is very helpful.
