Responsibilities

You’ll design the architecture, manage the performance, and drive decisions to grow the code base on our key consumer app.

You’ll collaborate with our product, design, and mobile development teams to build exciting new features and experiences in an app that people love.

You’ll have the autonomy and control to shape the future of our codebase.

You’ll collaborate with our platform team to design APIs.

You’ll own platform and infrastructure projects to ensure our app is staying stable and up to date.

Required

8+ years of experience developing, architecting, optimizing and shipping high performance Android applications

Demonstrate a concrete understanding of Android best practices

Experience with Android libraries like Android X/Jetpack, Room, Kotlin Coroutines, Retrofit

Familiarity with modern Android architectures and frameworks, like Model-View Intent (MVI), Kotlin Flow, and Compose

Confidence in the Android ecosystem and have used modern Android tools and frameworks

Built and executed on Android technical roadmaps

Pride in shipping code that’s clean, DRY, and well-tested

Take ownership of projects, from technical planning and implementation to testing and deployment

Enjoy partnering up with product and design teams to deliver a great user experience

Enjoy partnering with web and backend staff engineers on API design and system-wide changes that could affect mobile

Confidence to communicate something technical to a non-technical team member

Ability to cut out the jargon and talk to others like human beings

Ability to roll up your sleeves and support each other when things don't go as planned

Preferred

Familiarity with emerging technologies like Compose

Familiarity with Ruby on Rails or API design
