Responsibilities

Researches and analyzes statutes, judicial decisions, legal articles, contracts, and legal codes

Drafts, reviews, and negotiates contracts on behalf of the organization

Prepares additional legal documents, such as memorandums and correspondence

Informs the development of new Navitus legal changes and provides guidance on legal issues

Provides legal counsel to Navitus’ staff members on the implications of their business objectives and ensures that all of Navitus’ staff are informed of applicable policies and practices

Files legal documents and correspondence in digital and physical filing systems

Develops processes for the effective indexing and filing of legal documents and managing contracts

Provides support other departments as it pertains to contracts and business operations and regulatory affairs issues

Other duties as assigned

Required

License to practice law required

Some experience working in a law firm or in-house legal department required

Highly developed verbal and written communications skills to interact tactfully and effectively with others both internal and external to Navitus on sensitive and complex topics

Ability to use a personal computer and possess advanced skills in software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat

Participate in, adhere to, and support compliance program objectives

The ability to consistently interact cooperatively and respectfully with other employees
