Responsibilities
Support highly transactional SQL Server database platforms in Azure (IaaS and PaaS) and on-prem
Work independently in ticket resolution and incident response with minimal supervision
Implement, support, and guide the management of SQL Server Database Systems, Reporting Services, Analysis Services, and Integration Services to support FinThrive applications.
Hands-on performance tuning, identify where the bottle neck is and work with developers and Infrastructure team in fixing it
Monitor and troubleshoot database instances
Perform root-cause analysis
Identify opportunities for improved system performance, assist development teams with implementation
Develop process for optimizing database security
Manage database access
Drive the on-going management, evolution, improvement, and automation of DBA procedures

Required
6+ years of experience in managing SQL Server database servers on-prem and in cloud environments
6+ years of experience in database administration, information technology, database architecture, or a related field
Hands on experience as a DBA with database platforms with SQL Server and understand the database market trends
Experience in automating database maintenance tasks
Experience with Microsoft Azure and running SQL Server in Azure
Experience with database related infrastructure: storage, network, security, server performance. Need to be able to use tools and custom queries in identifying infrastructure issues
Experience in designing and configuring HA and DR solution for SQL Server
Good understanding of Azure Active Directory and Windows Authentication
Experience automating building of lower environments
Familiarity with SQL Server performance monitoring tools
Thorough understanding of the development and implementation of a data warehousing application
Comprehensive database skills and analytical expertise
Demonstrated ability to understand and comply with applicable regulations and company operating procedures, processes, policies, and tasks
Comprehensive written and verbal communication, interpersonal, facilitation, presentation, quantitative, analytical, organizational, and follow-up skills
The ability to meet deadlines on multiple projects as well as the ability to converse effectively with all levels of employees
Experience in managing SQL Server as managed instance in Azure
Preferred
An advanced degree in Computer Science (CS), Computer Information Systems (CIS), Management Information Systems (MIS), or related field
Expert knowledge and comprehensive application of advanced SQL concepts, practices, and applications
