Responsibilities

Building and scaling data applications to support traffic and feature demands

Hands-on development for approximately 50% of the time

Leadership activities including collaboration with high-level leadership

Managing multiple projects

Guiding the team through technical challenges

Required

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, including Dataflow, Dataproc, and Bigtable

Experience with NoSQL databases like Cassandra, including creating new tables and models

Proven experience leading teams, managing multiple projects, and collaborating with senior leadership

Expertise in big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, and data modeling practices

Familiarity with search technologies like Solr and Fusion

Proficient in Java development, with experience in frameworks like Micronaut and Spring Boot

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences

Ability to handle complex technical issues and provide effective solutions under pressure

Preferred

Proficiency in programming languages such as Scala, Python, and Go is a plus
