Responsibilities
Develop technical expertise in the GitHub product, and collaborate with subject matter experts to define content opportunities.
Plan, research, design, write, publish, and maintain documentation content that meets user needs, company goals, and Docs standards. Proactively apply approval and review processes.
Assess and improve effectiveness of new and existing content based on metrics, user feedback, and research with Docs personas; propose and execute improvements.
Apply and create principles to develop relevant, technically accurate content designed for a variety of users Envision and drive content experiences of the future by observing customers, and working with product and research teams.
Drive collaborative efforts with relevant cross-functional stakeholders to understand and align content with business goals.
Provides leadership in the GitHub content community of practice by sharing information necessary for creating and delivering user-centered content (large groups such as brown bags, guides, informal meetings).

Required
10+ years experience in writing, content design, content strategy, UX design, information technology (IT), coding/programming, or related field
OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, English, Writing, Journalism, Communications, or related field AND 8+ years experience in writing, content design, content strategy, UX design, information technology, coding/programming, or related field
OR equivalent experience.
3+ year(s) project leadership / management experience
Preferred
5+ years project leadership / management experience
Demonstrated interest in software development, technical writing, or software documentation.
