Responsibilities
Do a transcript edit of the podcast (no technical editing skills needed) to make sure the content is as compelling as possible
Pitch stories for inclusion in the newsletter and work closely with Liz and team to select the stories
Write, edit, and distribute (via Substack) a 2x-per-week newsletter that shares science-backed information in our accessible, enjoyable brand tone
Track our work on social media to ensure the newsletter reflects the same priorities and tone and is a value-add.
Format newsletter in Substack including selecting photos/images, embedding social media assets, and posting.
Work with tools to gain audience insights, boost engagement, and grow subscriptions.
Go through podcast transcript and fact-check claims from guests

Required
2+ years editorial experience
Understanding of scientific literature and journals, with an ability to read a study and understand claims
Ability to translate science and health facts into accessible, interesting language
Ability to quickly turn around great copy
Ability to work remotely, independently, and/or collaboratively
Ability to consistently meet deadlines
Ability to receive and incorporate editorial feedback
Big picture thinking—we want you to pitch ideas!
Preferred
Familiarity with Substack is preferred
Familiarity with Wordpress is preferred
Familiarity with podcasts (from an editorial side, not a technical side! Basically, what makes interesting podcast content?) preferred
