Responsibilities
Plan and develop research using appropriate computer applications (including SAS) for multiple public health surveillance and informatics use cases.
Develop proposals for research and analytic projects, defining the scope and intent of the projects, resource requirements, timelines and significant milestones, and intended outputs.
Provide analysis and data interpretation to a broad range of data users, including both expert and lay users of complex public health data sets.
Provide guidance and expertise to staff and other federal collaborators in the analysis, visualization, and presentation of diverse public health data for both scientific and policy audiences.
Prepare comprehensive reports that include discussion of substantive issues related to methodology for vaccine safety monitoring and public health surveillance.

Degree that included 15 semester hours in statistics (or in mathematics and statistics, provided at least 6 semester hours were in statistics), and 9 additional semester hours in one or more of the following: physical or biological sciences, medicine, education, or engineering; or in the social sciences including demography, history, economics, social welfare, geography, international relations, social or cultural anthropology, health sociology, political science, public administration, psychology, etc.
Combination of education and experience -- courses as shown in above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
To qualify at the GS-14 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level, which must include the following experience: applying statistical and/or data science applications such as multivariate methods, survey design, survival analysis, multilevel modeling; and using databases for vaccine/infectious disease or other applied public health research.
