Responsibilities

Oversee Donor Engagement and Stewardship (DES) program operations and plans
Lead and execute projects to enhance MIT's ability to recognize and engage donors
Steward funds with a high degree of efficiency and quality
Execute department-wide analysis on current systems and designs
Implement plans for improvement or significant change
Design and lead a system for auditing stewardship information and activity of active funds
Act as central liaison to other teams for fund information and stewardship operations data needs
Partner with Student Financial Services to support the complex student assignment process for stewarded scholarship funds
Collaborate with stakeholders throughout RD and MIT
Identify and implement technical solutions
Create documentation of business processes
Develop and deliver training to support stewardship, recognition, and engagement strategies

Required

Bachelor's degree
Five years’ related experience, particularly in stewardship, research, or information management in advancement
Proficiency with enterprise databases and reporting tools, e.g., Advance and FileMaker
Excellent analytical, organizational, and written and oral communication skills
Discretion with confidential information
Attention to detail, accuracy, and continuous quality improvement
Support for MIT’s diversity, equity, and inclusion priorities
Ability to collaborate and communicate successfully with a variety of stakeholders
Ability to lead change
Ability to present information in a clear and cohesive manner, including delivering technical information to non-technical users
Ability to meet challenging and changing deadlines while managing multiple projects/priorities

Preferred

Experience with SQL and other extraction and reporting languages
Strong Mac skills and proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OmniGraffle, etc.
Development experience at MIT or another higher education institution
Willingness and ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
Willingness to travel with and staff the president, senior officers, and faculty to key meetings with prospects and donors
