Responsibilities
The Strategy Department Internship is a paid, 3-month learning experience for first-year graduate students designed to foster the development of outstanding individuals interested in a career in healthcare strategy and consulting.
The Internship allows individuals to gain valuable insights and practical experience in healthcare strategy.
Practical experience includes providing strategy and business consulting services at many levels of Mayo Clinic's organization.
Applies intelligence, consulting and other methods to aid with strategy and design, applied analytics or business and digital transformation.
Considers the long-term strategic, business and technical needs of clients with the goal of providing innovative solutions and recommendations that meet current and future customer needs.
Works independently and enables projects which may include subcomponents of larger scale projects as directed by a Strategy Manager.
Leverages lessons learned to create best and next practice models, tools, frameworks and methods enabling sustained transformational capabilities.

Required
Completion of first year of master’s program. The master’s program is typically in management, healthcare administration, operations, analytics, or health-related fields, but applicants from other fields are considered.
Strong presentation, oral and written communication skills.
Preferred
Experience in strategy, consulting, finance, digital technology enablement, applied analytics and leadership are preferred but not required.
