Responsibilities
Conduct field work to collect data for geomorphic site assessments and reference reach stream surveys in rural and urban environments.
Record, write, and discuss field notes and measurements taken in the field with collaborating engineers and team members.
Gather, correlate, and utilize raw data to perform scientific and engineering analyses for various sites to develop restoration designs suitable for review.
Learn and understand various software to perform calculations and analyses necessary to complete assigned projects including hydrology, open channel hydraulics, and river modeling. This may include proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS software, RIVERMorph, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Compile data and information to write and generate technical memos and reports to support stream restoration projects.
Assist Project Engineer in estimating engineering project costs, specification creation, design changes, and report figure generation for restoration of rivers or wetlands.
Provide quality control on assigned tasks within established design guidelines and under Project Manager’s review to ensure the timely and accurate completion of concise technical documentation for geomorphic assessments, modeling reports, and design construction documents.
Become acquainted with the procedures and techniques necessary to execute a sound and efficient project. On assigned projects, provide guidance and assistance to drafting personnel.
Provide quality work within the scope of work, guidelines, time allocation, and schedules defined by the Project Manager. Provide the Project Manager with information and help coordinate information between groups. Provide the Project manager with information for decision making related to the overall project.
Manage time efficiently while working on multiple projects simultaneously in both an independent and group setting.

Required
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Agricultural Engineering; or Geology (or related equivalent)
College coursework in water hydrology and open-channel hydraulics, geomorphology, stream restoration, geology, basic survey, technical writing, environmental engineering/science including dendrology and botany is preferred
Experience with river, hydrologic, and hydraulic analyses and design software as follows: RIVERMorph, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HEC-RAS 2D, ArcGIS, and Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Preferred
College coursework in water hydrology and open-channel hydraulics, geomorphology, stream restoration, geology, basic survey, technical writing, environmental engineering/science including dendrology and botany is preferred
EIT or GIT Certification preferred
AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus
