Responsibilities
Performing challenging 3-dimensional structural analyses and designs for a wide variety of clients using various state-of-the-art design software.
Performing structural analyses of sports products collaborating with sports manufacturers.
Experience should include structural analysis, design, and detailing for concrete, steel, and aluminum structures. Experience with cable design is preferred.
Responsible for serving as lead project engineer, i.e., taking responsibility for design, plans, and specifications. This includes coordinating the work of junior team members and amongst other trades.
Solving engineering problems using experience, judgment, and education and knowing when to ask for assistance when required.
Write and review related reports for the services provided.
Scoping projects and assisting project managers with proposal creation.
Serving as a Quality Control reviewer for the designs of team members.
Assisting the Team Leader in initiating, developing, and implementing continuous team improvement initiatives.
Supporting structural work in our building projects within the Structural Facilities Group as workload warrants.
Attending client meetings/presentations in the daytime or evenings.
Communicating with client representatives, contractors, and suppliers.
Participating in site visits/inspections/documentation during construction.
Work on a variety of projects including schools, industrial facilities, commercial buildings, and governmental projects.
Preparing structural designs; prepare structural design summaries and detailed drawings using AutoCAD and REVIT; consider alternate designs and value engineering; meeting scheduled project deadlines; and communicating with client representatives.

Required
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/ Structural Engineering
Minimum of 10 years' experience
PE in NYS or another state
Applicants must reside within the United States
Structural analysis, design, and detailing for steel, wood, masonry structures, and concrete foundations
Familiarity with light cable structures, precast concrete, and AASHTO
Experience with commercial and residential projects
Proficiency with the International Building Code (IBC), ASCE-7, ACI 318, AISC 360, AITC and/or NDS (wood), and TMS 402/602 (masonry)
Use of three-dimensional analysis and design software
Strong understanding of construction methods and ability to identify constructability issues in drawings and details
On-site condition inspection and assessment
Specification writing, technical report writing, and public speaking
Mentorship of staff

Strong technical, communication, and organizational skills
