Responsibilities
Analyzing data related to local food and creating materials for practitioners.
Assisting in the development of architectural design concepts, sketches, drawings, and 3D renderings incorporating applicable design standards, codes, techniques, and practices.
Assisting in the development of outreach and technical assistance materials related to the Division’s Wholesale Markets and Facility Design work.
Applying a broad knowledge of architectural/engineering methods, precedents and standards to significantly diverse work complexities.
Providing professional service to peers, administrators and managers. Interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multi-discipline team environment are critical.
Keeping abreast of the latest developments in architecture, engineering and related disciplines by reviewing technical literature and discussing issues with industry representatives and peers.
Adhering to Civil Rights policies, goals, and objectives in performing the duties of this position.

Required
You must be a US Citizen or US National.
Individuals who were born male after 12/31/1959 must be Selective Service registered or exempt.
Must be in good academic standing as defined by their academic institution.
Complete at least 640 hrs of work experience prior to completion of degree.
Enrolled at least half-time at a qualifying educational institution.
A signed participant agreement is required for employment under Pathways.
Satisfactory Background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
Successful completion of two-year trial period.
Direct Deposit: Per Public Law 104-134 all Federal employees are required to have federal payments made by direct deposit to their financial institution.
Successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
All USDA employees are required to be enrolled in Continuous Vetting.
Must be available to work a regular schedule when classes are in session as well as during scheduled breaks.
Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement, including specialized experience and/or education.
Completion of 4 academic years of post-high school leading to a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in architecture; or related field that included 60 semester hours of course work in architecture or related disciplines.
At least 30 semester hours were in architectural design.
At least 6 semester hours were in each of the following: structural technology, properties of materials and methods of construction, and environmental control systems.
Combination of education and experience that furnished a thorough knowledge of the arts and sciences underlying professional architecture.
A good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the architectural principles, methods, and techniques and their applications to the design and construction or improvement of buildings.
Completion of 1 full academic year of graduate level education (18 semester hours, 27 quarter hours or equivalent) in a Masters Level architecture program or a related field.
Successful completion of a 5-year program of study of at least 160 semester hours leading to a Bachelor of Architecture or higher degree in an accredited college or university is qualifying for GS-7.
Applicants with an architecture degree who have appropriate experience as a technician equivalent to grade GS-5 or higher may have such experience credited for grade GS-7 only on a month-for-month basis up to a maximum of 12 months.
Eligibility under the Superior Academic Achievement provision.
To qualify based on superior academic achievement you must have completed the requirements for a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution AND must meet certain GPA requirements.
