Responsibilities
Lead and mentor junior engineers in substation engineering projects.
Design new substation layouts using electrical schematics and equipment specifications.
Prepare substation design calculations including bus sizing, power loading, and cable sizing.
Ensure compliance with NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, and ANSI standards.
Interpret vendor information for design deliverables.
Lead substation design projects.

Required
4+ years utility substation design experience (15kV through to 500kV)
Bachelors’ degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis on high voltage and power distribution systems.
Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Strong communication skills to co-ordinate with project engineers, designers and client representatives.
Preferred
4+ years utility/EPC/Consultancy substation engineering experience.
Professional Engineer (PE) license
Proficiency with AutoCAD (2016 or newer) software
Proficiency with MicroStation (V8 or newer).
Proficiency with CDEGS & grounding calculations.
Experience leading & mentoring junior engineers
Detailed design of new substation layouts using electrical schematics, bill of materials and equipment specifications.
Experience preparing substation design calculations such as bus sizing, power loading, DC loading, lighting and cable sizing.
Understanding of NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI standards.
Interpreting vendor information to provide design deliverables
Ability to lead a large portion or the entirety of a substation design project.
