Responsibilities

Responsible for the architect and engineering design program to ensure execution according to the schedule and compliance with established architectural and engineering standards.
Evaluate the work of other engineers or architects to verify design concepts and solutions meet design criteria.
Maintain balanced workloads by shifting work assignments, subordinate workers, or additional resources to achieve an effective work operation.
Interpret the intent of contract documents to make final architecture determinations on contract requirements.
Assess team members' strengths and weaknesses to facilitate engineering assignments.

Required

Must be a US Citizen.
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver`s license.
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
This position requires current registration as a Professional Engineer OR Professional Architect in the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, or any State in the U.S.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate coordinating diverse groups for planning, design, and construction components of facilities projects, providing expert-level guidance on architectural and engineering methods, conducting architectural and/or engineering studies, and reviewing architectural and engineering plans for accuracy and conformance.
For the 0801 General Engineering Series, applicants must meet the basic education requirements outlined by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual.
For the 0808 General Engineering Series, applicants must meet the basic education requirements outlined by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual.
