Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux) and application software.

Perform regular updates, patches, and backups to ensure system security and availability.

Manage and monitor servers, networks, and cloud environments.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.

Maintain user access, permissions, and accounts in Active Directory or equivalent.

Implement and maintain system security measures, including firewalls, antivirus, and intrusion detection.

Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulations.

Conduct regular system audits and vulnerability assessments.

Monitor system performance and resource utilization, addressing bottlenecks and inefficiencies.

Implement solutions to improve system reliability and scalability.

Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, processes, and changes.

Collaborate with IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders to implement new technologies and solutions.

Provide technical support for system-related issues and resolve helpdesk tickets.

Educate users on system functionality and best practices.

Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Proven experience as a System Administrator or similar role.

Hands-on experience with server and network administration.

Proficiency in managing Windows Server, Linux/Unix, and cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure).

Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).

Knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and security best practices.

Experience with backup solutions and disaster recovery planning.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator.

Experience with automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Ansible).

Required Security clearance.

Preferred

Federal Experience is a plus.
