Responsibilities

Server Administration

Install and configure applications on servers to support ONRRs mission

Test all operating system and application security patches or updates on all servers

Install all system/application patches/upgrades on all servers after testing

Configure, administer, and maintain server and storage replication to ensure data availability

Responsively communicate and report hardware/software outage or problems

Proactively monitor ONRR systems, including Windows/server event and systems log; Hyper-V, VMWARE/ESXI and storage infrastructure; access and environmental control systems; Compellent and storage; Internet Information Services (IIS); BigFix; and system performance monitoring using Solarwinds and built-in/custom tools/applications

Resolve customer requests and provide engineering solutions to resolve system problems

Review network equipment software and hardware support coverage including warranty

Implement a standard server system build methodology and provide and maintain installation standards and procedures (e.g., STIGS, images)

Respond to unplanned and reoccurring security incidents

Validate, remediate, and inform ONRRs and Enterprise Cybersecurity of vulnerability statuses, mitigation efforts and findings

Coordinate and communicate with ONRR personnel for government property management
